Below you will find out about all the great things we do in in our class. 

The Iron Man

We are currently reading The Iron Man by Ted Hughes as our class book.  As part of this, we are writing diary entries as the character of 'Hogarth' (see below).

 

Matisse

This term we have been finding out about Matisse in our Art lessons.  We spent time looking at Matisse's art work and then created our own Matisse inspired masterpieces using paper which we cut into our designs.

 

The Stone age

We have been exploring the Stone Age through our History, English and Art lessons.  We have read Stone Age Boy, explored what life was like in the Stone Age and did some living history- cave art with berries and charcoal, making a stone age meal and hand paintings with chalk together. We also wrote a fact file and a non-chronological report all about Stone Age.

 

Forces in Science

We have also been investigating forces in our Science lessons.  We completed a number of experiments to find out more about forces (see pictures below!) which we really enjoyed.

 

The Lost Words

We have also read poems by Robert Macfarlane from a book called 'The Lost words.'  This book explored different words which are being lost from the English language and tries to bring them back to regular use through the poems.
