It was another successful night for the Kennington cricket team as they won both their games again on Friday evening against strong sides frm Roebuck and Cottam.
The boys took quick control against Roebuck school and produced an excellent batting display with good innings from Hussain and Abbas who rattled up some good scores. Roebuck had a lot do do in their run chase but super bowling stints from Michael, Abbas and Hussain proved too much for Roebuck and the game ended with Kennington's 54 runs being enough to see them through.
The second game was a much closer affair. Cottam were put into bat first and although Abbas' bowling was good, the Cottam opener managed to rattle up 27 runs in the first over, scoring sixes and fours for fun. Fortunately, after his retirement the bowling got a lot more aggressive with some great catches coming from Faiz and Hussain. Cottam racked up a score of 43.
Kennington's opener matched Cottams and Aaman bettered his opposite man's score with an unbeaten 30. This set the platform for the next two batters and Michael and Abbas both carried the team to victory with 59.
This means the team have played 4 and won 4 with only one game left which surely means a place in the knockout stages.
